In a distance of 30km from Leonidion on the southeastern slopes of mount Parnon and in an altitude of 1.200 meters one finds the “Kosmas” village well known for its forest of firs.
It is the favorite destination for visitors during winter time due to its snow activities and their taverns cater with traditional dishes and home made sweets.
Just before you arrive at “Kosmas” village there is the famous 11th century monastery of “Elona” built inside a very high and steep rock in the middle of unspoiled and wild nature.
Astros is a beautiful little town which was built on the slopes of a star-like hill, which the locals call “island”.

In a distance of 70 km north of Leonidion and following the coastal road one may find the city of Nafplio, capital of the district of Argolis and one of the loveliest and busiest touristic towns in Greece.
The old city with its neoclassic houses, picturesque streets, wooden balconies with cascading flowers, Constitution (Syntagma) Square with its fascinating mosques and outdoor cafe tables are always a major attraction.
On the southern coast of the peninsula, looking onto the Mirtoo Sea stands the former Byzantine-Venetian fortress-state of Monemvassia, on its rocky promontory. From afar it looks as if it could be an island. Every little detail of the castle calls up memories of Byzantines and Venetians.
In greek Monemvassia means an entrance: the only access to the rock is a hoisted pathway which is joined to the mainland.
North of Monemvassia the region of Zaraka is full of medieval villages, built high on the mountains alongside ruined castles, churches and houses, with names like Harakas, Rihia, Gerakas, Ag. Dimitris, Glostoli and Kiparissi.
